To Prospective Students: Thanks for visiting our site and for expressing some interest in the ROTC program at Tuskegee University. First, ROTC is about developing leaders for our Nation - whether in the Army or in the civilian workforce. Our ROTC program is all about world-class leadership. We focus on you the individual and work to develop your personal leadership skills through a series of classes, labs and leadership positions. We will teach you leadership skills and give you “hands-on” experience that will ensure your success as an Army Lieutenant in the Guard, Reserve or Active Army. These same skills will easily translate into successful supervisory or management skills in the corporate world. If this sounds good to you, keep reading. The Tuskegee Army ROTC program combines college courses in military science (leadership, management, conflict resolution, team building, and ethical decision making) with an exciting summer training experience to create a total program aimed at helping students to become better leaders, and ideally, effective Army officers. Enrollment, however, is not limited to students interested in being military officers. Anyone interested in fine-tuning his or her leadership ability is able to participate in the program during his or her freshman and sophomore years. Participating in Army ROTC is an invaluable investment into one's future.
The skills developed through the Army ROTC program help to prepare our
cadets for success in college, become better leaders upon graduation,
and create opportunities for a promising future as leaders for our Nation.
Army ROTC at Tuskegee University was instituted in February 1919 and commanded by the First Professor of Military Science Captain Russell Smith an Infantry Officer. Army ROTC at Tuskegee University is rich in history, and offers a myriad of opportunities to build for the future by earning a college degree and a commission as an officer in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard or Army Reserves. Here you start, than commence with the experience and knowledge needed to excel. If you think the Tuskegee University Army Officer Corps is the place for you contact us at jcaswell@tuskegee.edu.
